Mr Hemal Patel is a successful serial entrepreneur and a technology executive with significant experience in building technology businesses from scratch and running internet service providers in the United States, Puerto Rico and India. His last assignment was Senior Vice President at Sophos, a LSE listed IT Security company.

Mr Patel has managed four successful technology start‑ups and built global brands like Cyberoam and Elitecore Technologies. Cyberoam, which is now a part of Sophos, is his best known venture with 65,000+ customers, 600+ member strong team and 9,000+ resellers in 150+ countries across the globe. The company was previously funded by The Carlyle Group and sold to Sophos in 2014 and was a global top 10 unified threat management solutions company at the time of exit. Elitecore Technologies, a convergent billing solution was one of India’s top telecom software product companies and was sold to Sterlite in September 2015.

Mr Patel’s first venture was Eclipse Micro Computer, a technology consulting company which managed large IT infrastructure projects for US firms like Chase Manhattan Bank, JP Morgan, Merrill Lynch, AT&T, etc. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics and Telecommunication) from India, a Master’s degree in Computer Science from United States, and a degree in Advanced Project Management from Stanford University.
