Dr. Azad MoopenAdvisor

Dr Azad Moopen is a physician turned entrepreneur and philanthropist. He is the Founder and Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare which is the largest healthcare chain in the GCC countries and one of the largest hospital chains in India.

Dr Moopen started his career as a medical lecturer at the Kozhikode Government Medical College before moving to Dubai and establishing the healthcare chain under the brands of Aster, Medcare and Access. He is the founder of DM WIMS ‑ a Medical College of international standards and MIMS Academy Trust that provides opportunities to students through courses ranging from Diploma to Masters. Dr Azad Moopen is also the Chairman of Credence School, Dubai, Vice Chairman of three schools in Saudi Arabia and SAFI (Social Advancement Foundation of India), Executive Trustee of the Horizon International School ‑ Calicut and founder of MA Moopen Memorial School for Special Needs, which is for the differently abled.

Dr Moopen was conferred with Padma Shri in the year 2011 for his distinguished services to the society. He is also the recipient of Pravasi Bharatiya Samman from the Government of India, Best Doctor Award instituted by the Government of Kerala, Arab Health Award and the prestigious Arabian Business Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions to the healthcare industry in the Middle East.

Dr Moopen is a gold medallist in medicine (MBBS) and a postgraduate in general medicine from the University of Calicut, Kerala and a diploma holder in tuberculosis and chest diseases from the Delhi University.
