Ms Apurva Purohit is the Co-founder of Aazol, an FMCG company which operates in the consumer food space and connects agri-producers and micro-entrepreneurs making home-grown foods with urban consumers in domestic and international markets, using technology. She previously served as the President of the Jagran Group, one of India’s largest media conglomerates, where she led multiple companies of the group across print, radio, digital and outdoor in the group.

Ms Purohit was the CEO of Radio City FM radio network for about 10 years before the network was acquired by the Jagran Group. Under her leadership, Radio City has been consecutively featured in the Great Place To Work survey for 7 years. Prior to Radio City, she worked with Bennett Coleman & Company Limited and Zee Telefilms where she fashioned the re-launch strategy for its flagship channel Zee TV. She also launched India’s first lifestyle channel Zoom among other successful TV brands. Ms. Purohit launched the first‑ever independent media buying agency in India, Lodestar in 1995.

Ms Purohit is an Independent Director on the board of directors of Mindtree Limited, and also serves on the board of Midday Infomedia limited and Music Broadcast Limited. She is an advisor to BD Foundation, a not for profit diversity foundation.

Over the years, Ms Purohit has won multiple business awards and has been named as one of the ‘Most Powerful Women in Business’ as per the India Today Group (2016 & 2018) and Fortune India. She has authored the national best-selling book – “Lady, You’re not a Man – the Adventures of a Woman at Work”.

Ms Purohit holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science (Physics) and completed her PGDM from IIM Bangalore.
